I thought email marketing was on the way out but Derek Gehl made me believe otherwise.

The explosion of spam and junk email almost killed my email newsletter.  For a while, I stopped publishing and took a long vacation from the net.  But I couldn't let go of something I've started 5 years ago.  What a waste of time and money spent building my email list.  After some more reflections, I decided to contact my newsletter subscribers.  I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they remained on my list, waiting for me to publish again.  My newsletter is one of the few remaining which offer free newsletter advertising to subscribers targeted to mostly business opportunity seekers.

I was still on that negative wave-length of thinking (about email marketing) when I received an email from Derek Gehl.

In his words, "Despite the obstacles presented by spam and volume, email marketing can still deliver an exceptional return on investment (ROI) because of the massive amount of time people spend online, and the proportion of that time they spend checking their email.

In fact, eMarketer reports that email generates a much higher return on spending than methods such as direct mail and newspaper and radio advertising.

So if anyone tries to tell you that email marketing is dead,  don't believe them!"
